如果系统出现故障时，FLEX I/O还为用户节省额外的时间。因为它将现场接线端子和I/O接口组合在同一位置，使用户系统更便于维护和故障诊断，节省了用户时间和金钱。另外，FLEX I/O系统的重要特点是允许用户处于安全场合，在背板供电情况下，拆卸并插入模块，不需要中断系统。

FLEX I/O系统能够在EtherNet/IP、ControlNet、DeviceNet以及许多其它开放网络(包括但不限定在以下网络：Remote I/O、PROFIBUS DP和Interbus-S)上通讯。当用户特定应用需求改变时，可以将适配器和其它组件添加到系统内。

FLEX Ex具有先进技术允许在实际应用中将分布式结构移动到危险的区域。我们已经从标准的FLEX I/O系统中吸取经验并利用该套系统来建立一个外表、感觉都相同，且用法简单的本质安全系统。

在危险区域安装时无需进行净化和安装防爆外壳。FLEX Ex是一个既不需要本质安全防护，也无需用长距离布线将模块连接到控制柜的模块化I/O系统。

一个适配器最多可以同8个I/O模块通讯。允许将适配器连接到：

128个数字量输入/输出，

Each FLEX I/O system includes at least one adapter, one terminal base, and one I/O module. The system can be powered by FLEX power supply (1794-PS13 or - PS3) or any other compatible power supply. Use the terminal module on the terminal base to directly connect to the user's on-site equipment. Direct wiring can save users:

If the system malfunctions, FLEX I/O also saves users additional time. Because it combines the on-site wiring terminals and I/O interfaces in the same location, making the user system more convenient for maintenance and fault diagnosis, saving users time and money. In addition, the important feature of the FLEX I/O system is that it allows users to disassemble and insert modules in a safe environment without interrupting the system when the backplane is powered on.

The FLEX I/O system can communicate on EtherNet/IP, ControlNet, DeviceNet, and many other open networks, including but not limited to Remote I/O, PROFIBUS DP, and Interbus-S. When the specific application requirements of users change, adapters and other components can be added to the system.

FLEX Ex has advanced technology that allows for the movement of distributed structures to hazardous areas in practical applications. We have learned from the standard FLEX I/O system and utilized it to establish an intrinsically safe system that looks and feels the same, and is easy to use.

When installing in hazardous areas, there is no need for purification or installation of explosion-proof enclosures. FLEX Ex is a modular I/O system that neither requires intrinsic safety protection nor long-distance wiring to connect modules to the control cabinet.

An adapter can communicate with up to 8 I/O modules. Allow adapter to be connected to:

Digital analog mixing to meet user requirements.
